Summer is in full swing! Which may mean your children are enjoying a nice cup of Kool-Aid and a few popsicles. Kool-Aid and other juices are some of the toughest stains to remove from carpet or furniture. How can you remove these stains from your carpet and keep it looking fresh?
How To Remove Tough Juice Stains
You’ll need:
- Ammonia
- Hot Water
- Spray Bottle
- Color-safe towels (clean)
- Clothing Iron
- Papertowels
Prior to applying the color safe cloth towel, remove as much of the excess liquid with a paper towel. Be sure to firmly press the paper towel into the carpet; a wiping motion can create a larger stain.
First, allow your iron to preheat. Next fill the spray bottle with a one to one ratio of ammonia and hot water; shake the bottle to combine the ingredients. Spray the tough carpet stain with the mixture to ensure the stain is fully saturated. Cover the stain with your clean cloth towel and then place your iron onto the towel. (Do not place the iron directly onto your carpet.) Slowly move the iron over the towel covering the entire stain. Finally, remove the towel. You may have to repeat this process to fully remove the stain from your carpet.
